Youku, Discovery line up Beyond Rights kids, factual content in Asia-Pacific

CBeebies preschool animation series Hushabye Lullabye

Chinese streamers and broadcasters have acquired a string of shows from London-based distributor Beyond Rights ahead of Mip China.

Alibaba Digital Media and Entertainment Group’s Youku has picked up both series of preschool animation series Hushabye Lullabye (30×3′), a MaraKids production for CBeebies in the UK.

Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific has acquired 70 hours of Emmy-nominated science and engineering title MythBusters, including a special dedicated to James Bond, produced by Beyond Productions for Discovery US.

The Red Apollo Group has acquired history titles including ITN Productions’ Elizabeth (9×60′), both series of Phoenix TV’s Underground Worlds (20×60′) from Beyond Productions, and Shipwreck Secrets (6×60′) from Like A Shot Entertainment. No Country TV has picked up Woodcut Media’s Combat Ships (9×60′) and Wings of War (8×60′).

Finally, Yuxiu International Media Co has acquired Pernel Media natural history doc Who’s Afraid of the European Hamster (1×60′).
