Yes Studios boss Danna Stern leaves after more than two decades

International TV veteran Danna Stern is moving on from Yes after over 20 years with the Israeli broadcaster.

Stern announced via LinkedIn that she has begun transitioning out of her current role as managing director at production and distribution company Yes Studios to begin “exciting adventures” in 2022.

At Tel Aviv-based Yes Studios, Stern oversaw sales, distribution and development of premium content for international platforms.

A pivotal figure in bringing Israeli TV to the world, Stern has worked on both the Israeli and international versions of drama hits such as Fauda and Your Honor (Kvodo).

Yes Studios has also been behind series including Shtisel, 68 Whiskey, On the Spectrum and The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem, said to be Israel’s largest TV production to date.

Prior to beginning her role at the then-fledgling Yes Studios in 2017, Stern was head of acquisitions and programming at yesTV/DBS.

Stern managed programming and content acquisition strategies for the satellite broadcaster’s channel line-up and served as a commissioning editor for documentary and factual programming.

She joined Yes in 1999 after beginning her career in journalism for companies such as Reuters.

Stern, who spoke at C21’s Content London event towards the end of 2021, said: “It has been an unbelievable journey. I got to meet, invent, create, negotiate, produce, launch and work with amazing people, colleagues and friends on more projects than I can probably remember.”

Her next move is not yet known.
