A founding member of Idris Elba’s prodco, Green Door Pictures, has left the firm to work across factual indie Woodcut Media and drama-focused stablemate Duchess Street Productions, both part of UK-based Bob & Co.

Nicholas Yearwood has joined as a consultant executive producer for both companies and will develop scripted and unscripted programming. He will continue to work on his own independent projects for various established and emerging off-screen talent.

Prior to setting up as a consultant, Yearwood was an executive producer and head of development at Green Door, which launched in 2014. His credits include Sky series Ones to Watch and documentary films such as the Elba-fronted Mandela, My Dad and Me, directed by Bafta winner Daniel Vernon.

“With [Green Door] firmly established and in rude health, I feel now is the right time to explore a variety of interesting and exciting opportunities elsewhere,” Yearwood said.

Kate Beal, CEO of Woodcut Media, added: “In recent years we have developed a fantastic rapport with Nicholas while working together on docs such as Mandela, My Dad and Me and Cut From a Different Cloth.

“His creative vision and production values are aligned with Woodcut’s, and we look forward to his collaboration on various upcoming projects.”

Donna Wiffen, MD at Duchess Street, said her company would work with Yearwood on “some high-end original ideas with both established and newer talent.”

Earlier this year, Bob & Co forged an agreement with producer David Parfitt of Trademark Films that will see him work across the UK media advisory group’s activities.
