Xbox, Amblin TV and 343 Industries’ Halo cancelled at Paramount+ after two seasons

Halo was originally greenlit by Showime in 2018

Paramount+’s big-budget adaptation of popular video game franchise Halo has been cancelled after two seasons.

Producers of the live-action series, Xbox, Amblin TV and 343 Industries, will reportedly shop the rights to other potential buyers.

Season one dropped in 2022 and the cancellation comes after the second premiered in March. The show was initially greenlit as a Showime original in 2018 but was shifted to Paramount+ ahead of its launch.

“Paramount+ can confirm that Halo will not move forward with a third season on the service,” said the streamer in a statement.

“We are extremely proud of this ambitious series and would like to thank our partners at Xbox, 343 Industries and Amblin Television, along with showrunner and executive producer David Wiener, his fellow executive producers, the entire cast led by Pablo Schreiber as Master Chief and the amazing crew for all their outstanding work.”
