Witches of Eastwick spin-off for Fox

At the Fox network in the US, two new drama pilots have been given the nod: one spun off from the 1987 theatrical movie Witches of Eastwick and another revisiting the theme of a 1960s sci-fi series.

According to LA-based pilot monitor TVtracker.com, Fox has ordered a pilot from Warner Bros called Eastwick. The show, written and exec produced by Jon Cowan and Robert Rovner, continues author John Updike's tale by imagining the adventures of the 15-year-old son of Daryl Van Horne, played by Jack Nicholson in the movie.

The network is also seemingly revisiting its 1960s sci-fi series Time Tunnel, after picking up a pilot by the same name from Twentieth Television and Regency. Rand Ravich is down as exec producer and writer of the new show, with Todd Holand sharing exec producer duties.

Similar to the Fox TV production of 1966-67 from Irwin Allen, Time Tunnel follows a pair of agents, male and female, who use said inter-dimensional gateway to prevent past and future disasters from happening.
