Kim Wilson, creative head of children’s and youth programming, has departed CBC after spending a total of 14 years in the kids’ department.

Wilson joined CBC from TVO in 2001 and went on to take the top children’s job in 2005 following the departure of Cheryl Hassen.

Sally Catto, general manager of programming at CBC, will cover Wilson’s duties whilst the broadcaster searches for a permanent replacement, a spokesman told C21. Wilson’s next move is not yet known.

Her departure from CBC comes ahead of the exit of another long-serving children’s TV exec in Canada.

Veteran TVO exec Pat Ellingson is set to retire as the head of children’s programming on August 31, having joined the broadcaster in 1995.
