Will Gurman upped to senior VP of content strategy and partnerships at Pluto TV

Will Gurman has been promoted to senior VP of content strategy and partnerships at Paramount Global-owned AVoD service Pluto TV.

Will Gurman

Gurman has been upped from his previous position of VP, content strategy and business operations, streaming, for Paramount.

He is now tasked with leading content strategy, overseeing AVoD and free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channel evaluation, and working across Pluto’s 400-plus content partnerships.

Gurman’s brief also includes maximising the performance of Paramount’s content library, as well as managing the allocation of content spend across formats and genres to drive overall business growth.

He will continue to collaborate across programming, marketing, distribution, ad sales and product.

Gurman began his career in entertainment at 20th Century Fox Television, where his seven-year tenure culminated with the position of manager, brand management and strategy.

He then worked for Fullscreen Media in LA, launching the company’s millennial and Gen Z-skewing SVoD service and serving as senior director, content acquisition and strategy.

Gurman joined Pluto in 2018, initially as director of content partnerships, eventually being elevated to VP, content partnerships. During his time at Pluto, Gurman has played a key role in launching FAST channels connected to brands such as Major League Baseball, Major League Soccer, Baywatch and James Bond. He has also expanded Pluto’s partnerships network throughout Latin America, Europe and Canada.

Gurman will be based in LA and continue to report to Amy Kuessner, executive VP of programming at Pluto TV.
