Crime drama Rebecca

UK distributor Cineflix Rights has unveiled its slate of scripted programming, including a crime drama from Trainspotting creator Irvine Welsh, ahead of this year’s Mipcom.

Produced by Buccaneer Media for ITV and Britbox, Welsh’s Crime (6×60’) is about detective inspector Ray Lennox (Dougray Scott), a man engaged in his own disturbing battle while undertaking serious crime investigations in a city on the edge of the abyss.

Rebecca, an 8×60’ crime drama produced for TF1 by Elephant, follows brilliant yet tormented Parisian detective Rebecca (Anne Marivin) as she resumes the hunt for a serial killer six years after she abandoned the initial investigation.

In Israeli drama Manayek, Izzy Bachar (Shalom Assayag), a veteran internal affairs investigator, stumbles upon a police corruption case where the prime suspect is his best friend and decorated officer Barak Harel (Amos Tamam). The series is produced by Yoav Gross Productions for Kan 11 Network.

Happily Married, produced by Productions Casablanca for Radio-Canada and Tou.tv-Extra, follows a middle-class couple whose relationship is disintegrating, leading them to a ruthless life of murder and criminality in a desperate search to find marital bliss.

The series are joined by returning seasons of Apple TV+ spy thriller Tehran, drama Coroner, supernatural show Wynonna Earp, detective series Marcella, Russian drama An Ordinary Woman, crime series Whitstable Pearl, French drama Mirage and Icelandic political drama The Minister.

Finally, Cineflix’s movie slate includes holiday features An Ice Wine Christmas, produced by Cineflix Productions and Miracle in Motor City, as well as survival movie Left for Dead: The Ashley Reeves Story.

Tim Mutimer, CEO of rights at Cineflix Media, said: “I’m thrilled to be presenting our buyers with an incredibly strong slate of English-language international dramas and movies from some of the most talented writers, producers, directors and actors around the world. From compelling crime to nail-biting espionage and quirky dark humour, our high-quality catalogue of standout new and returning dramas will provide audiences with thrills, entertainment and escapism.”
