MIPTV: Warner Bros International Television Production (WBITVP) has hired Fremantle exec Harry Gamsu as VP of creative, format development and sales, following the departure of Adam Steinman.

Based in LA, Gamsu will be responsible for relations between WBITVP’s international unit and the Warner Bros US television production divisions Warner Horizon, Telepictures and Shed.

Reporting to Andrew Zein, senior VP of creative, format development and sales, Gamsu will also be responsible for evaluating formats within the Warner Bros back catalogue for international exploitation and format sales to Canada.

He takes over the role previously held by Steinman, who left WBITVP earlier this year to take on a new, yet-to-be-announced role.

Gamsu previously served as VP of non-scripted content acquisitions at Fremantle, managing the US content acquisition team, working across factual and entertainment series such as How it Feels to be Free, After the Fyre and Project Runway.

Prior to joining Fremantle, he held the position of VP of non-scripted at Red Arrow Studios where he was responsible for sourcing unscripted IP for group producers and oversaw the rollout of formats such as Married at First Sight, Old Peoples Home for 4 Year Old’s and Buying Blind.

The appointment, announced during MipTV in Cannes today, marks a return to Warner Bros for Gamsu, who started his career at London-based indie Shed Media before moving to WBITVP UK to help acquire new formats.
