The new streaming service will launch in March with premium, standard and ad-supported tiers, with pricing yet to be announced.

Max’s debut in the Australian market on March 31 will be supported by Foxtel under a platform carriage deal which gives Max instant access to Foxtel’s 1.4 million subscribers in addition to stand alone subscription via max.com.

Under the Nine agreement, the broadcasters’ sales team has been appointed as Max’s exclusive partner on its ad-supported ‘Basic With Ads’ subscription tier.

The relationship will allow Nine to offer agencies and clients advertising solutions across both SVoD and BVoD platforms and alongside its own in-house offerings of Stan and the Nine BVoD offerings.

WBD’s GM Australia and New Zealand Michael Brooks said: “This is the first time WBD’s premium slate of content has existed in one place in Australia. Launching Max with an ad-supported tier creates a compelling offer for viewers and advertisers alike, while partnering with Nine allows us to tap into their deep experience, on strong relationships, and proven capabilities.”
