WBD’s Cartoon Network visits Nice Ninja’s Apple Hills in Danish series pick-up for YouTube channel

Apple Hills is produced by Denmark’s Nice Ninja

Warner Bros Discovery has picked up Danish animated kids’ comedy series Apple Hills for its Cartoon Network YouTube channel globally.

Produced by Denmark’s Nice Ninja and coproduced with pubcaster DR, Apple Hills is set in a town so small and insignificant it has been removed from Google Maps. Two small kids, who are experts at surviving boredom, find solutions to everyday relatable problems that often take a wild and unpredictable turn for the worse.

The first 20×5’ season of Apple Hills debuted on DR last year, where it became the third ranking kids’ show in Denmark within six weeks. Within the first month of launching on DR’s kids’ VoD platform Ramasjang, the show was watched 6.5 million times.

Apple Hills will launch on the Cartoon Network YouTube channel this weekend. Season two (20×6’) is in production and will be delivered in the first quarter of this year. London-based Meta Media Entertainment has the worldwide distribution rights to the series.
