Wattpad Webtoon Studios adapts supernatural comic Third Shift Society

LA- and Toronto-based Wattpad Webtoon Studios (WWS) is collaborating with US prodco Rehab Entertainment and family entertainment specialist The Jim Henson Company to adapt webcomic Third Shift Society.

The live action series, to be directed by Ray Utarnachitt (DC’s Legends of Tomorrow), is based on the supernatural Webtoon comic, which has been viewed 15 million times online and was published as a graphic novel by Webtoon Unscrolled.

Third Shift Society follows Ellie, who investigates paranormal mysteries alongside a pumpkin headed detective called Ichabod.

Executive producers are John W. Hyde, Terissa Kelton and Lisa Henson.

David Madden, head of global entertainment, WWS, said: “With memorable characters, dark humour, and slow-burn mysteries, this is a perfect story to bring to a series format.”
