Warner Bros Discovery’s HGTV renews two property series for second seasons

Building Roots is fronted by Cristi and Ben Dozier

US factual network HGTV has renewed property series Building Roots and Why the Heck Did I Buy This House? for second seasons.

The Warner Bros Discovery-owned net ordered eight new episodes of Building Roots and eight of Why the Heck Did I Buy This House? Both will return for their sophomore seasons in 2023.

The first season of Building Roots was initially slated to run for eight episodes, but the order was later doubled. Produced by So Much Film, the series sees husband-and-wife duo Ben and Cristi Dozier build, design and renovate properties in their hometown of Pagosa Springs, Colorado.

Why the Heck Did I Buy This House? follows Kim Wolfe, a former winner of CBS reality series Survivor, as she uses her tenacity and ingenuity to rescue homeowners with major buyer’s remorse. It is produced by High Noon Entertainment.
