Warner Bros Discovery takes off with Jetpack kids’ cartoons for Asian market

Mechamoto will air on Cartoon Network

Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) has acquired the rights to air animated kids’ shows Mechamato and Dennis the Menace & Gnasher in Asia via a deal with Jetpack Distribution.

Season one of Mechamoto will air on WBD’s Cartoon Network channel, while the first two seasons of Dennis the Menace & Gnasher have been picked up for both Cartoon Network and Indian children’s channel Pogo.

Jetpack announced the sales at the Asia TV Forum & Market, which is taking place in Singapore this week. The kids’ and family content specialist also revealed it has sold the rights to the first season of Ladybird & Bee to the Walt Disney Company in Japan.

In other Jetpack deals in the region, GRT Children’s Channel has picked up The Moe Show for China and Hong Kong, while educational kids’ platform Da Vinci has taken Critters TV and Yoko (S1-3) for Asia, India and the Middle East.

Meanwhile, Malaysian entertainment company Astro has taken A Week to Beat the World, Spookiz the Movie and Spookiz (S1-3) for Malaysia and Brunei, and India’s ETV Balbharat has re-licensed the rights to the first season of The Sisters.
