Gold Diggers debuted on Russian streamer Start

Non-English-language drama VoD service Walter Presents has acquired Russian series Gold Diggers (aka Russian Affairs).

The eight-part series is a crime drama set among Moscow’s oligarch-led high society. It follows a female police officer who infiltrates this mysterious world while investigating a case, only to be allured by its wealth and luxury.

The series is produced by Start Studios, the production arm of Russian media group Yellow Black & White, with Konstantin Bogolomov and Irina Sosnovaya serving as showrunners. The first season aired via the company’s own streamer, Start.

Walter Presents acquired Gold Diggers from French distributor Oble.

Dariaa Bondarenko, executive VP of international acquisitions, development and coproduction at Yellow, Black & White, said: “Gold Diggers is a fantastic ensemble show, featuring some of Russia’s best talent in front of and behind the camera. It’s ostentatious, racy and intriguing, and gives viewers a tantalising ringside seat to the fictionalised world of Russian oligarchs, their mistresses, money, wives and lives.”
