Walter Presents thrown Lifeline

Walter Presents, the UK-based international drama service that is set to launch in the US next month, has acquired exclusive US and UK VoD rights to a Spanish thriller.

Lifeline (aka Pulsaciones) follows an eminent surgeon who undergoes an emergency heart transplant and uncovers a horrific medical scandal on an industrial scale.

Produced by Globomedia for Atresmedia and distributed by Imagina International, it began airing in Spain on Antena 3 in January, with three million viewers tuning in to the first episode.

“Lifeline is rollercoaster thriller with plenty of shock narrative twists and epic cliffhanger endings. I’m confident UK and US audiences will find it just as hard as I did to tear themselves away from this series,” said Walter Iuzzolino, curator of Walter Presents.

Walter Presents launched in the UK in January 2016 and will arrive in the US as a subscription VoD service next month, marking the first international version of the platform.

It is backed by UK broadcaster Channel 4 and Global Series Network, which is run by former Fox UK boss Jason Thorp and former C4 and Fox exec Jo McGrath, plus Iuzzolino, who was previously creative director at UK prodco Betty.
