Walter Presents foreign drama for Stan

Sløborn focuses on a fatal virus

Non-English-language drama VoD service Walter Presents has picked up a package of series from Germany’s ZDF Enterprises (ZDFE) for Stan subscribers in Australia.

It comes after Walter Presents recently announced an exclusive partnership with Aussie streamer Stan to secure international drama programming for the latter’s service down under.

The dramas chosen from ZDFE’s catalogue by Walter Presents curator and co-founder Walter Iuzzolino include Danish thriller Grow, Italian series Standing Tall and Swedish/German copro Top Dog.

Also part of the agreement is Sløborn, produced by Syrreal Entertainment in coproduction with ZDF, Tobis, Nordisk Film and ZDFE, which mixes coming-of-age drama with pandemic thriller to tell the story of a group of islanders confronted with a fatal virus.

Stan will also show Film.UA’s Ukrainian crime noir Hide & Seek, as well as Belgian family drama Beyond Appearances.

Iuzzolino said: “We are delighted to secure an incredibly rich and varied slate of some extraordinary productions from Italian psychological thrillers to German high-concept mystery. This ZDFE deal will bring to Walter Presents in Australia an unmissable treasure trove of the best television drama from around the world, exclusively available on Stan.”
