Holding company Vytal Group, headed by Tomás Yankelevich, Jorge Carey and Edgar Spielmann, has completed the purchase of Chilevisión.

One of the new management’s first decisions was to announce the departure of Juan ‘Iñaki’ Vicente as the channel’s executive director.

The announcement was made officially by Chilevisión, which highlighted Vicente’s achievements during the five years he was in charge of the channel.

During that period Vicente consolidated a content strategy based on three fundamental pillars: sports, information and entertainment, “positioning Chilevisión as a benchmark in each of these areas.”

The executive was also responsible for strengthening the presence of the streaming platforms Paramount+ and Pluto TV in the Chilean market, integrating Chilevisión into Paramount’s global ecosystem and generating regional synergies in content creation and operational efficiency.

“Chilevisión is well-positioned to maintain its leadership and continue its successful trajectory, with a solid structure, a strengthened brand, and a loyal audience. Juan ‘Iñaki’ Vicente will serve as the channel’s CEO until January 31. Chilevisión thanks Iñaki for his work over the years and wishes him every success in his new professional endeavours,” the company stated.

Vytal Group had confirmed hours earlier the completion of its acquisition of Chilevisión from Paramount. The agreement includes the channel’s entire content portfolio and existing broadcasting rights, encompassing sports, entertainment, news, and streaming.

Yankelevich, Carey, and Spielmann will be in charge of the project.

“Chilevisión is much more than a channel: it’s a factory of talent, creativity, and emotional connection with millions of people. Our ambition is to enhance this extraordinary human capital with a platform for sustained growth, leveraging new technologies, data, and agile production models that allow us to create even more relevant, diverse, and emotionally powerful content,” the new owners stated.

“We are going to invest so that Chilevisión continues to strengthen its leadership and its ability to create entertainment that excites and engages audiences. This acquisition is the first step in a long-term vision that is just beginning,” they added.
