Viu rolls into Singapore

Viu, the OTT service from Hong Kong-based telecoms and media group PCCW, is launching in Singapore following a deal with telco Singtel.

The service will roll out with a library of content that includes Korean drama Uncontrollably Fond, which will be aired with English subtitles. The show is also available on Viu at the same time in Hong Kong, Malaysia and Indonesia.

Viu premium subscribers can also watch the latest Korean dramas and variety shows from the big four Korean broadcasters as soon as eight hours after telecast in Korea.

“With the rise of digital content, we are seeing a rapid shift in the way media content is being consumed, especially by millennials,” said Janice Lee, MD of PCCW Media. “This strategic tie-up between Viu and Singtel is a win-win for consumers.”
