VIMN heats up Roast franchise

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) is expanding its Comedy Central Roast franchise, with a localised version set to air in Spain this summer.

Paramount Comedy in Spain will air its first Roast, targeting comedian, actor and filmmaker Santiago Segura, in May.

The original US version of the Comedy Central Roast has seen celebrities including James Franco, David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson and Joan Rivers the butt of various comedians’ jokes.

Meanwhile, Comedy Central Africa will air its second African Roast next month, with South African entrepreneur, politician and reality TV star Kenny Kunene in the hot seat.

The first African Roast took place in 2012, with controversial South African actor and singer-songwriter Steve Hofmeyr.
