Hutchens most recently served as director of content and talent for over three years. Before that he was head of screen industry programmes for more than nine years, when the organisation was known as Film Victoria.

VicScreen said Hutchens was returning to the production world.

Prior to joining the agency sector Hutchens was a partner at Australian production company Media World Pictures, earning a raft of producing credits for original primetime TV dramas, children’s animation series and feature films, across both drama and documentary.

He was also a director of television dramas, working on productions including Sweat, for Barron Entertainment, which featured Heath Ledger in his first starring TV role.
