Viaplay launches new channel on Amazon’s Prime Video in the UK

The new Viaplay channel will air seasons one to four of The Bridge

Viaplay Content Distribution is launching an add-on subscription channel for Amazon’s Prime Video subscribers in the UK on July 9.

Nordic noir and crime dramas available on the channel include seasons one to four of The Bridge, Face to Face, Fenris, Trom, seasons one to five of No Time to Mourn, seasons one to three of Honour and seasons one to three of Darkness: Those Who Kill.

Young-adult (YA) series include Delete Me and One of the Boys, while dramas The Architect, seasons one and two of Exit, seasons one and two of Love Me, The Dreamer: Becoming Karen Blixen, seasons one to two of The Beach Hotel, seasons one to four of Hammarvik and Limbo are also available.

Documentaries include The Most Remote Restaurants in the World and Crime Scene Sweden.

Upcoming series include season two of YA drama Threesome, crime drama Murderesses, comedy Call Me Dad, docuseries Bendtner and hockey drama Börje – The Journey of a Legend.

The channel launch comes after Viaplay closed its D2C streaming service in the UK in May as part of a rapid downsizing amidst financial issues.
