Viacom’s BET rolls into France

BET US drama Being Mary Jane will air in France

Viacom International Media Networks (VIMN) is preparing to launch BET, its cable channel focusing on black American culture, in France next month.

The 24-hour network will feature scripted, reality, music and news programming alongside the channel’s famous award shows.

Series such as Real Husbands of Hollywood, Being Mary Jane, Nellyville and The Wendy Williams Show will sit alongside local productions from France, VIMN said.

Its launch partners in France include CanalSat, Numericable/SFR, Free and Bouygues Telecom. VIMN expects the channel, which goes live on November 17, to reach 17.6 million households.
