ViacomCBS orders trio of formats from Endemol Shine Australia for 10, Paramount+

Paramount+ will carry the third season of Five Bedrooms

ViacomCBS has unveiled a flurry of local originals for Network 10 and streaming service Paramount+ in Australia to screen in 2022, including a trio of Endemol Shine Australia shows.

The Banijay-owned production company will produce Aussie versions of panel show Would I Lie To You? and reality format Hunted for ViacomCBS-owned Network 10 and adventure series The Bridge for Paramount+.

The latter will join local and international content from other ViacomCBS brands such as CBS, Nickelodeon, MTV, BET, Comedy Central, Showtime and the Smithsonian Channel on the streamer, which launched down under in August.

Original content from Australia already heading to Paramount+ includes Spreadsheet, a comedy about a newly divorced mother-of-two, played by Katherine Parkinson (The IT Crowd), who is on the hunt for sex with no strings attached.

Paramount+ will also stream the third season of Five Bedrooms and Couples Therapy Australia, alongside US shows such as Dexter: New Blood, Yellowjackets, Mayor of Kingstown and Four Hours at the Capitol, a documentary about the insurrection at the US Capitol building on January 6.

Other exclusive titles for 2022 include the live-action Halo series, plus The Panthers, The Offer, The Envoys (Los Enviados), Tokyo Vice and Ghislaine Maxwell: The Making of a Monster.

On Paramount+’s upcoming local programming slate, Beverley McGarvey, chief content officer and executive VP at ViacomCBS Australia and New Zealand, said: “Our selection really captures the essence of what makes entertainment in Australia so powerful. There’s depth in the narratives and complexity to the characters; the production values are world class; and our cast and local crews only underline the diverse, talented bunch we are.”
