ViacomCBS International Studios greenlights biopic series Bosé for Paramount+

ViacomCBS’ global content division ViacomCBS International Studios (VIS) is partnering with Shine Iberia, Elefantec Global and Legacy Rock on a biopic series based on the life of Spanish singer-songwriter Miguel Bosé.

The six-episode series will launch as a Paramount+ original in international markets, with filming set to begin in Spain in early 2022.

The project explores the life of the famed Latin artist and actor, revealing the stories behind the inspiration, composition and recording of some of his most iconic hits. Since his career began in the 1970s, Bosé has become an icon of Latin music, topping the charts in several markets with his signature baritone and ability to span many genres including teen pop, disco, new wave, post-punk and art rock.

Shine Iberia, which is part of Banijay Iberia, is headed up by Macarena Rey and produces series in Spain and Portugal including MasterChef, MasterChef Celebrity, MasterChef Junior, Maestros de la Costura, Prodigios, Anything Goes, Lego Masters, MasterChef Portugal and The Voice Portugal.

Elefantec Global, based in Los Angeles and Mexico City, is a tech-driven media and entertainment startup founded by industry veterans Jose Baston, Jeff Symon, Carlos Sandoval, Antonio Alonso and Daniel Ucrós.

Legacy Rock Entertainment, a production company based out of Miami and Los Angeles, was founded by Amir Agai and Antonio Mauri.
