USA returns to Temptation Island

Cable channel USA Network has renewed its reboot of reality series Temptation Island for a second season after its successful return following an 18-year hiatus.

The format originally aired on Fox in 2001, hosted by Hollywood star Mark Wahlberg. It sees four troubled couples travel to a tropical island where they are joined by 24 eligible men and women and must decide whether to commit to each other or go their separate ways and live the single life.

Wahlberg returned to host USA’s 10-episode revamp of the show, which premiered on the network last month. The programme has grown its audience by a third in key demographics, increasing its overall audience share by just under a quarter since its debut.

USA has ordered an expanded 12-episode second season from producer Banijay Studios North America, with Wahlberg staying on as host. A Banijay Group format, Temptation Island is executive produced by David Goldberg and Caroline Baumgard alongside Scott Jeffress.
