US network The CW lands Leonardo da Vinci series, Australian comedy drama Bump

Nathalie Morris stars in Bump

US free-to-air network The CW has acquired an Italian drama about Leonardo da Vinci, starring Poldark’s Aidan Turner, and an Australian comedy drama called Bump.

Turner (The Hobbit) plays the titular role in Leonardo, an eight-part series exploring the secrets and drama behind da Vinci’s genius. The show was created by Frank Spotnitz (The X Files, Medici) and Steve Thompson (Sherlock, Doctor Who).

Produced by Lux Vide with Rai Fiction and Big Light Productions, in association with France Télévisions and RTVE, Leonardo is coproduced and distributed worldwide by Sony Pictures Television.

Meanwhile, Bump stars Nathalie Morris as an over-achieving 17-year-old student with grand ambitions whose life takes a turn when she unexpectedly goes into labour.

Created by Claudia Karvan and Kelsey Munro, Bump is produced by Roadshow Rough Diamond (Romper Stomper, Les Norton), with John Edwards (The Secret Life Of Us), Dan Edwards (Romper Stomper) and Claudia Karvan (Love My Way) serving as producers.
