Univision helps Cooper with Quest

US Hispanic-focused media group Univision Communications has agreed a carriage deal that will see US-based channel owner Cooper Media’s Quest network become available across America.

Quest will broadcast on Univision station digital subchannels during the first quarter of next year in LA, Philadelphia, Miami, Orlando, Raleigh, Fresno, Bakersfield and Albuquerque.

Further roll-outs are planned in additional markets through 2019, with the launch following Univision’s partnership with Cooper Media’s Justice Network.

Quest will feature factual entertainment programming showcasing nature’s greatest dangers, history’s most intriguing mysteries and humankind’s most significant accomplishments.

With the addition of the Univision markets along with other broadcast partners, Quest will launch in nearly 50% of US broadcast homes.

The network is part of Cooper Media, the recently formed parent company of both Quest and sibling channel Justice Network. Cooper is backed by US station group Tegna.

“As the multicast environment continues to evolve and viewers seek new choices, Quest will fill a deep need in over-the-air factual entertainment programming,” said Cooper CEO Steve Schiffman.

“Univision’s commitment to quality, diversified programming and its spirit of innovation in the rapidly evolving broadcast space makes it an ideal partner for a network like Quest.”
