Universal Int’l Studios hands Rob Howard and Kelsey Balance expanded roles

London-based Universal International Studios (UIS) has promoted Rob Howard to executive VP of UIS and Kelsey Balance to exec VP of global scripted series.

Howard, who was formerly chief financial officer and exec VP, will see his role extend beyond finance to include oversight of the overall operational strategies at UIS and its production companies.

Balance will lead UIS’s global scripted series team, overseeing development of the studio’s slate of scripted programming across global broadcast, streaming and cable platforms.

Both execs will report to Beatrice Springborn, who holds a dual role as president of UIS and UCP.

UIS is behind titles including The Day of the Jackal, Safe Harbour, We Are Lady Parts, One Day and Apples Never Fall.

“With Rob and Kelsey stepping into expanded leadership roles, we are well positioned to strengthen our international ambitions and further support our coproduction partners’ goals,” said Springborn.
