Me: Pink Panther will be based on the novel of the same name by Olivera Ćirković, a former member of the Yugoslav national basketball team, who later became part of the international criminal group known as The Pink Panthers.

After Ćirković’s arrest, she spent eight years in Greek prisons and wrote the book as a confession, describing all the characters and events she experienced before and after her arrest.

The series has been created by Bjelogrlić, who will also be showrunner on the project, while the script will be written by Vuk Ršmović. It is due to start shooting next year at locations in Greece, Serbia and various European cities.

The news comes after United Media and Cobra Film have jointly produced the series Black Sun and Branded in Court in Serbia, as well as film Chain Reaction, about the nuclear accident in Vinča, currently in production.

United Media, which operates in eight countries in South-East Europe and owns six national broadcasters and 50 pay TV channels, said: “The subject itself is very intriguing and interesting to the public not only in the region, but in the whole of Europe.”
