UK’s 5 strikes US/Spanish copro deal to give Graham Norton adaptation a Forever Home

Graham Norton’s Forever Home is being adapted for screen

Paramount-owned 5 in the UK has commissioned crime drama series Forever Home, based on the novel of the same name by Irish broadcaster and presenter Graham Norton and coproduced with partners in the US and Spain.

The 6×60′ series, coproduced by US-based indie studio Filmnation Entertainment and Spain’s The Mediapro Studio, is supported by the North East Production Fund and North East Screen.

Starring Amy Nuttall (Downton Abbey) and Douglas Henshall (Shetland), it is described as a darkly emotional story about marriage, family and the unbreakable bond between a mother and her children.

Forever Home follows a woman who is horrified to discover the body of her husband’s first wife hidden in the basement of her home. Is he the killer and is that why he never wants to sell the property?

The supporting cast includes Denise Welch (Waterloo Road), Kevin Whately (Lewis) and Samantha Bond (The Marlow Murder Club). The adaptation is being written by Clara Salaman (Too Close), who will executive produce alongside Norton.

Filming will take place in Northumberland, in the North East of England, with the series due to air later this year. The Mediapro Studio is handling international distribution.

Paul Testar, commissioning editor, 5, said: “We’re delighted to partner with FilmNation and The Mediapro Studio to bring Graham Norton’s compelling novel to UK screens, supported by an outstanding cast. Working with North East Screen again to champion local filming has been a pleasure, and we can’t wait for viewers to immerse themselves in Forever Home.”
