UK deal for CBS’s Donovan

LA SCREENINGS: A pay broadcaster in the UK has picked up the new cable drama Ray Donovan from CBS Studios International (CBSSI).

Sky Atlantic has the exclusive TV rights to the 12×60′ series, which is set to debut next month in the US on CBS-owned cable net Showtime. It stars Liev Schreiber as a top Hollywood fixer and Jon Voight as his criminal dad.

“This is just the kind of quality series that defines the channel’s brand and fits in perfectly alongside the shows we bring exclusively to our customers,” said Sky senior acquisitions manager Lucy Criddle.

The show is being exec produced by Ann Biderman (Southland), who also wrote the pilot. It is also executive produced by Mark Gordon and Bryan Zuriff, via The Mark Gordon Company and CBS Television Studios.

The deal follows recent CBSSI pacts with Amedia in Russia and Finland’s MTV3 for library and new programming, reported here.
