UK dating format The Honesty Box to make international debut on Telecinco

The Honesty Box was created for Channel 4

Spanish commercial network Telecinco has greenlit a local-language version of UK reality dating format The Honesty Box.

Produced by BBC Studios-owned Brutal Media (The Academy), the show sees daters face the Honesty Box and asked probing questions about their feelings. If it detects deception, it could impact their newly formed relationship.

The format was created by Mettlemouse Entertainment and GroupM Motion Entertainment for UK broadcaster Channel 4.

The deal marks the first time distributor BBC Studios has secured an international licence for the format. The as-yet-untitled Spanish adaptation has now begun casting.
