Twofour54, Hijjawi prep Abu Dhabi drama

Media development agency Twofour54 has linked up with fellow Abu Dhabi-based firm Hijjawi Production and Distribution on a drama that will make use of city’s tax rebate system.

Something from the Past, which will air during Ramadan on an as-yet-unnamed United Arab Emirates (UAE) network and Jordan TV, is being produced by Essam Hijjawi and directed by Hussam Hijjawi.

The show, which features a pan-Arab cast, is set in UAE capital Abu Dhabi, Jordan and the Gulf and follows a group of people who experience a life-changing moment.

Twofour54 is providing Hijjawi with production equipment and crew, with the project benefiting from the Abu Dhabi Film Commission’s 30% cash-back rebate on production spend.

Abu Dhabi has become a regular location for regional dramas, with more than 10 Arabic TV productions filmed there during 2017 so far, including MBC dramas Haret El Shiekh, Al Asouf and Love Without Borders.

Movies filmed in Abu Dhabi include War Machine, starring Brad Pitt.
