Twofour saves Queens for Atlantic

In the UK, Sky Atlantic HD has commissioned a three-part factual series on the history of iconic gay performers.

God Save The Queens (3×60′) is produced by indie Twofour and will tell the stories of the most flamboyant and iconic gay performers from the past 60 years. The series will look at Kenneth Williams, Larry Grayson and Elton John, among others, and how they have changed public attitudes to homosexuality.

Juliet Rice, executive producer for Twofour, said: “As we celebrate the royal jubilee, God Save The Queens tells the stories of our favourite gay stars and the social landscape that defined them, providing us with constant entertainment over the last 60 years.”

The series was commissioned by Clare Handford for Sky Atlantic and is executive produced by Andrew Mackenzie and Juliet Rice, and series produced by Ros Edwards. An airdate has not yet been set.
