US broadcast network The CW has picked up season two of Canadian drama Sullivan’s Crossing before it debuts the first season this autumn.

The CW will partner with Reel World Management, original commissioning broadcaster CTV in Canada and distributor Fremantle on production of the second season, to be filmed in Novia Scotia later this year.

Based on the books by author Robyn Carr, Sullivan’s Crossing stars Morgan Kohan (Batwoman) as Maggie Sullivan, a woman forced to abandon her career in Boston to take refuge in a remote campground run by her estranged father.

The supporting cast includes Chad Michael Murray (One Tree Hill) and Scott Patterson (Gilmore Girls).

“We’re so confident that audiences are going to fall in love with Sullivan’s Crossing that we have committed early to a second season,” said Brad Schwartz, president of entertainment, The CW Network. “As partners for season two, we can’t wait to deliver another emotionally captivating season.”
