Two flagship Just For Laughs series set to return following CBC, Bell Media greenlights

Roast Battle Canada has been given a fifth season

Canadian broadcasters CBC and Bell Media have handed renewals to pair of Just For Laughs series.

Bell Media has renewed Roast Battle Canada for a fifth season, with the series set to premiere on its CTV Comedy Channel and streamer Crave.

The show, which sees comics roasting each other, is hosted by Ennis Esmer and features Russell Peters, Sabrina Jalees and K Trevor Wilson as judges.

CBC has greenlit a new season of stand-up show Just For Laughs Galas. In previous years, the show has included the likes of Debra DiGiovanni, Nimesh Patel, Mark Forward and Langston Kerman, with hosts including Mae Martin, Eddie Izzard, Leslie Jones and Jack Whitehall.

The Just For Laughs Comedy Festival is returning in July after it emerged from bankruptcy last year under new ownership.

“These renewals mark a pivotal moment in the festival’s relaunch,” said Sylvain Parent-Bédard, executive producer, president and CEO of Just For Laughs. “We’re honoured to continue our creative partnerships with Bell Media and CBC to deliver bold, premium comedy that reflects both Canadian excellence and international appeal.”
