TVF shops factual in Far East

Summerhill International’s Dog’s Best Friend: unlikely friendships

Japanese pubcaster NHK, Animal Planet Japan and Tokyovision have picked up a range of documentaries and series from factual distributor TVF International.

NHK has picked up 1×52′ doc Indian Space Dreams for its Dramatic Planet slot. The joint Sequoia and Spring Films production features exclusive behind-the-scenes access to India’s very first space mission.

Meanwhile, Animal Planet Japan has acquired Canadian Summerhill International’s Dog’s Best Friend, a 25×22′ series examining the unlikely friendships between dogs and other animals such as monkeys, lions, tortoises and even dolphins.

Finally, Tokyovision has acquired BBC doc The Secret Life of Your Clothes (1×60′) and RTÉ’s Will a Robot Steal My Job (1×53′) for NTV’s World Great TV’slot.

In related news, TVF International is teaming up with Tokyovision on a four-part 4K underwater wildlife copro exploring creatures and habitats across east Asia.

The series, called Ocean Wild, follows previous collaborations between the pair, including Japan from Above, Laos from Above, Vietnam from Above and shortform cooking series 101 Easy Japanese Recipes.
