TVF International taking 80 hours of factual and unscripted to Sunnyside, Doc Fest

Stacey Dooley: Growing Up Gypsy looks at the women of the UK’s traveller community

BBC Three commission Stacey Dooley: Growing Up Gypsy is among the shows being launched on the international market this summer at events such as Sunny Side of the Doc and Sheffield Doc Fest by London-based factual distributor TVF International.

The 54-minute one-off from Little Venice Studios, which aired in the UK in March, sees Dooley invited into the traditionally private traveller community to meet women who are defying stereotypes and breaking the mould in this misunderstood and maligned minority.

It is among 80 hours of new content being launched by TVF International on its summer slate, spanning world affairs, science and environment, health and relationships, arts and lifestyle, factual entertainment, wildlife and history.

This includes new Second World War titles such as BBC Storyville and ABC commission Our Dad the Nazi Killer from Identity Productions, which investigates alleged revenge killings of escaped Nazis living in post-war Australia.

Ahead of her trip to La Rochelle for Sunny Side, TVF head Poppy McAlister said: “The breadth of titles on our slate, from fresh perspectives on WWII history, to ground-breaking science across the globe, showcases international storytelling at its finest.”

McAlister, who is also attending Sheffield Doc Fest this summer, will be at Sunny Side alongside Sam Joyce, senior acquisitions manager at TVF, and senior sales and acquisitions executive for Europe Ben Nohr.
