TV4 set to Let Love Rule in Sweden

Let Love Rule is set for a second season on Dutch broadcaster SBS6

Swedish broadcaster TV4 has acquired ITV Studios’ reality dating format Let Love Rule for local adaptation.

The reality series sees two singletons live together from the first date to test their compatibility in the hope of finding love. Each couple moves in and has to live together for a minimum of 24 hours and a maximum of five days.

The Swedish adaptation of Let Love Rule will be broadcast on TV4’s VoD platform, TV4 Play, as well as linear channel Sjuan. The Swedish version of the format will be produced by ITV Studios Sweden and is expected to launch this autumn.

Maarten Meijs, president of global entertainment at ITV Studios, said: “We are very excited to bring this format to Sweden and work together with our local ITV Studios office there to produce the Swedish version of this new dating show. The dating genre is very popular and current.

“Let Love Rule isn’t like any other dating show. It’s all about creating real connections, which is one of the key objectives for the format. It’s an unusual but sincere love experiment in which candidates, ranging from all ages, are all genuinely looking to find true love.”

The original series was created by Big Brother creator John de Mol and is broadcast on Dutch broadcaster SBS6 where it has been recommissioned for a second run.
