TV4 prescribes Swedish Nurses

Syrror

Swedish prodco Bob Films is adapting Nurses as Syrror

Swedish commercial broadcaster TV4 has ordered two seasons of Finnish medical drama format Nurses.

TV4 has commissioned two runs of 10 episodes, to be titled Syrror. The first season will be broadcast this autumn and is being produced by Swedish prodco Bob Films, which optioned the format last year.

Nurses is distributed internationally by Eccho Rights, which represents the format for producer Yellow Films.

Jan Blomgren, CEO of Bob Films, said: “The original version of Nurses is very well written and produced. We believe the audience in Sweden will relate to real stories in a glossy drama series.”

Eccho Rights will also sell the Swedish version of the show and has already presold the original to TV2 in Norway and DR in Denmark.

It has also sold rights for a UK remake to DLT and licenced the first two Finnish seasons to ProSiebenSat.1, making Nurses the first Nordic series ever to air on a commercial broadcaster in Germany.

Finnish broadcaster YLE is preparing its fourth season of Nurses, where it is titled Syke, with a third season set to debut this month.
