Turner takes Turkish delights to Mip

Turner Broadcasting System’s branded content development division Turner Content Solutions has picked up three Turkish dramas as it prepares for MipTV in Cannes.

Memoli (13×90′) is a spin-off from Turkish police drama series Yilan Hikayesi, which first aired on commercial network Kanal D.

Another from the same channel, Valley of the Wolves (97×90′), is set in the world of gambling, drugs and weapon smuggling. The third, I Met a Woman, is a romantic drama series about a woman forced to run from her past.

In reality and drama, Turner has truTV’s reality show The Wiener’s Circle (6×30′), as well as a second season of the Steven Spielberg-produced apocalyptic drama Falling Skies (10×60′), which will air on TNT in the US this summer.

At Mipdoc, Turner will take Confessions of a Hit Man, a one-hour Emmy-nominated film detailing the realities of the drugs trade in Mexico, and Traces (10×60′), a series in which film actor Diego Luna explores the underworld of Latin America.

Turner-developed kids’ productions the firm will offer include Ben 10: Omniverse (10×30′ in 2012, 30×30′ in 2013), the fourth season in the Ben 10 franchise. The toon is accompanied by its CGI feature-length TV version Ben 10: Destroy All Aliens (1×90′).

Other kids’ content includes The Amazing World of Gumball (38×15′), which is in its second season, and new seasons of Icelandic preschool property LazyTown (53×30′) and Cartoon Network Studio’s Adventure Time (39×15′), both currently in production.
