Turner re-hires Duffield

Turner has appointed the former VP of distribution and sales at FremantleMedia’s children’s arm as regional syndication director for the UK and Northern Europe.

Joss Duffield will be responsible for third-party licensing deals in the UK and the Nordics across the Cartoon Network and Boomerang owner’s kids’ and entertainment brands, which also include TNT, TBS, truTV and Adult Swim.

Duffield, who joined FremantleMedia in 2013 and left after it sold its kids’ and family division to Canada’s Boat Rocker Media last month, will report to Pierre Branco, senior VP and general manager of Turner Northern Europe.

The exec will work with Humphrey Black, VP of media distribution, Turner EMEA, in the role. The hire comes after Duffield served as international sales chief at Turner between 2010 and 2011, before she joined Entertainment One as head of international sales. Duffield has also held roles at AETN, Chorion and Entertainment Rights.

“Alongside our core channel business, we are continuing to develop new platform partnerships and innovative ways to exploit our rich programming inventory, and Joss’s expertise will be vital in driving forward our strategy across these key markets,” said Branco.
