This week on C21FM, we heard from Series Mania director-general Laurence Herszberg about the French international TV drama festival’s 13th edition in Lille this week.

We also heard from Shira Hadad and Dror Mishani, writers of A Body That Works, about making the Israeli drama, screened to international buyers at the event, and from Black Sheep Productions co-founder Saar Yogev about another new Israeli drama, Innermost, also shown in Lille.

Meanwhile, RTÉ head of drama David Crean spoke about the Irish public broadcaster’s coproduction strategy around titles like Kin and Hidden Assets, as well as the challenges of securing returning series in an environment where partner US streamers are rethinking their budgets.

Finally, Icelandic producer Hörður Rúnarsson talked about launching new production company ACT 4 and its first commission, Volcano – a collaboration with LA-based Upgrade Productions and Croatia’s Drugi Plan – announced on day one of the Series Mania Forum.
