José Manuel Lorenzo is chairman and founder of DLO Producciones, one of Spain’s most well-established independent production companies, behind series including Radio Gago for Movistar+ and La Caza Monteperdido for RTVE.

The 20-year-old company became part-owned by Banijay five years ago, joining together with Magnolia, and during his career, Lorenzo has been chief of Spanish producers’ association PATE and a senior exec at Antena 3 and Canal+.

He spoke to Nico Franks at the Conecta Fiction & Entertainment coproduction event in Toledo last week about new regulations being brought in by the county that will change the definition of independent production companies and are causing major concerns for those in that line of work.

C21FM is live 24/7, with a block of interviews starting at 10am BST every day HERE.
