Former Virgin Media Television MD Pat Kiely launched production, talent management and commercial partnerships outfit BiggerStage earlier this year.

The Dublin-based company will develop original content for the global market and hopes to showcase Ireland as a hub for international television production, with a focus on unscripted entertainment.

BiggerStage is poised to open a UK office shortly and is currently in discussions with several US agencies to establish a North American presence.

Kiely spoke to Ruth Lawes about setting up the business during the pandemic, its string of recent hires and ambitions for the coming 12 months.

Andrew Eastel is the creative director of UK indie Middlechild. Focusing on factual content, the Brighton-based business specialises in returnable, often access-led, documentary series.

This year, it scored a Royal Television Society Programme Awards nomination for a Channel 5 feature doc on the Nuremberg trials and Eastel spoke to Ruth Lawes about how this has informed Middlechild’s development slate, as well as the broader outlook for the documentary sector.
