Buyers from around the world would normally be passing through the UK capital this week on their way back from the annual BBC Showcase and stopping in at a growing series of distributor events collectively known as the London Screenings.

Among them would be Stephen Mowbray, head of acquisitions at Swedish public broadcaster SVT, but like everyone else he’s only able to attend this year’s virtual version amid the ongoing pandemic.

Ahead of the event, he spoke with Karolina Kaminska about the sort of programming he’s looking out for, how competition for UK content in Sweden is increasing as demand for US programming dwindles and why the rise of the streamers is getting out of control.

With the virtual version of the 2021 London Screenings underway, C21 has put together a series of panel discussions and one-on-one interviews to coincide with the event, exploring the key trends and issues front of mind for buyers and sellers right now, the place of UK programming on the global stage and some of the shows to watch out for.

Louise Pedersen, CEO of All3Media International, spoke to Ed Waller about how the pandemic has impacted the company and TV distribution in general, and why despite the events of 2020 there are plenty of reasons for the sector to be cheerful.

C21FM is live 24/7, with a block of interviews starting at 10am BST every day at c21fmradio.com. You can download the audio from the C21 Podcast by CLICKING HERE.
