Trivial Pursuit lands in Spain with RTVE adaptation by Satisfaction Iberia

Spanish pubcaster RTVE has commissioned a local adaptation of gameshow Trivial Pursuit

Spanish pubcaster RTVE has commissioned a local adaptation of the iconic board game-based format Trivial Pursuit.

The Spanish version will be produced by Satisfaction Iberia and is set to air as a daily show on La 1, RTVE’s flagship linear channel.

This marks the first international rollout of the Talpa Studios and Hasbro format in its new incarnation – following earlier versions in the 1990s – after its recent reboot premiered on The CW in the US in October 2024. The American version was recently renewed for a second season.

Trivial Pursuit is a family quiz show in which contestants compete on a giant game board, answering questions across categories to earn wedges and reach the centre before their rivals. The winner of the main round advances to a timed final for a chance to win the grand prize.

The Spanish version will be hosted by Egoitz Txurruka, known as Txurru, a familiar face on Basque broadcaster EITB since 2013 and current host of daily quiz show Esto no es normal since 2022.

For Satisfaction Iberia, launched in January 2024, Trivial Pursuit marks its third commission from RTVE, following The Floor and The Connection.

Satisfaction Iberia was formed as a joint venture between France’s Satisfaction Group and Spanish executive and producer Daniel Domenjó, who exited the company in March to become CEO of local streamer Movistar Plus+.
