Toonz, Yellow strike copro pact

Indian animation firm Toonz Media Group is partnering with Australian kids’ producer Yellow Entertainment to co-develop preschool animation series.

The two firms will coproduce and distribute multiple forthcoming Yellow Entertainment series globally.

Greg Page, co-founder of Australian musical quartet The Wiggles and president of Yellow Entertainment, will serve as executive producer on the projects, with Toonz CEO P Jayakumar and Yellow VP of creative development Alec Miller producing.

Yellow will handle pre-production, including IP creation, scripts and music, while Toonz will lead all other aspects of production.

Imira Entertainment, Toonz Media Group’s kids and family distribution division, will be responsible for international sales of IP developed and produced as part of the alliance.

Yellow Entertainment’s strategic focus is developing and distributing preschool IP with an educational and interactive approach to children around the world.

Toonz, through its state-of-the-art animation studio in India, has produced numerous successful kids’ and family entertainment brands through its global production partnerships with companies including Disney, Turner, Nickelodeon, Sony, Universal, BBC and Paramount.
