Disney-owned National Geographic in the US has unveiled a new slate of factual commissions led by an exploration of the Pompeii catastrophe fronted by Tom Hiddlestone, and a re-examination of the death of Diana Princess of Wales.

Diana: One Day In Paris, meanwhile, is from the producers of 9/11: One Day In America and JFK: One Day In America and is described as the definitive retelling of the tragic death of Diana Princess of Wales on the 30th anniversary of her passing.

72 Films will produce the three parter with David Glover and Mark Raphael the executive producers for the company.

The slate also includes natural history series The Real Finding Nemo (working title) which hales from Blue Planet II producer James Honeyborne and his prodco Freeborne Media.

The series follows the success of Disney+ original series A Real Bug’s Life and again focuses on the animals who inspired the Pixar film.

Finally, Meet The Planets (working title) is from Ryan Reynold’s Maximum Effort and BBC Studios’ Science Unit, an astronomy series that brings the galaxy’s most famous family to life, with the sun as the matriarch, surrounded by her unruly planetary children.
